One year ago MAINIC was created with it’s first post about the Brussels Fashion Days 2016. MAINIC is back this year with the brand new edition that collaborated with Spanish designers. There was a lot going this weekend at Horta Gallery in Brussels and MAINIC had a look at the first friday night.

During this 3 days at 20, 21 and 22 October you could discover different fashion shows’s (Belgian and Spanish designers, students or famous names in the fashion sector such as Natan, Doriane Van Overeem or the colorful Agatha Ruiz de la Prada), workshops, pop-up stores or even fashion talk on a sunday.

Get lost at the cocktail bar, the Schwarzkopf hair bar or get casted as a model for Flag Models. A lot of pop-up stores gathered together with their most-beloved and unique pieces.

After getting your hair and make-up ready, everyone was waiting for the opening fashion show (the highlight of the evening).

The following Belgian and Spanish designers revealed their work:

  • Ilke Cop

  • Sarah Josis

  • Chapelart

  • 42/54

  • Romani Design

  • Threeones

  • D’icanno

  • Debora Velasquez

  • Eder Aurre

  • Nouman

It showed us that creativity was the main topic of the evening in combination with the new trends of shapes, designs and colors. Also: the hair of the models were equal with the concept they wanted to give for each design.

Every show from every designer had a completely different style, it could go from sporty spice to very posh dresses that reminded me of Elie Saab.

But what definitely drawn the attention was the amount of colors they used for a fall/winter collection. The designers combined it with faux fur collars and sweaters, satin vests and trousers and trench coats in a very remarkable print. I would dare to compare it to Dries Van Noten’s style.
