It’s almost another month and that means new style trends coming up in the stores and magazines. Last year nude colors, glitter and slip dresses were dominating but this time the tables have turned. MAINIC made a quick sketch of the latest trends of this month for fall and upcoming winter.
It’s time for bright colors during the darkest periode of the year. We’re combining it with puffer jackets, flared trousers, turtle neck knitwear and more.
Oversized puffer jackets
One of the biggest returns on the runway and the stores is the puffy jacket in an oversized version. It’s a must-have piece for these cold winter days. It was first seen last year on the runway for massive ready-to-wear designers such as Vetements and Balenciaga. Now it even has conquered stores like H&M and Zara so it’s not an exclusive runway trend anymore.
Although these puffy’s from Balenciaga don’t really look comfortable to wear, MAINIC looked up some affordable and wearable puffer jackets.

Plaid pattern
For the last few years, a lot of patterns showed up such as tartan, pied-de-poule, flowers,… Now it’s mostly about the plaid pattern which is a bit similar to the tartan and the check pattern. This pattern mostly comes in an iconic blazer jacket or a mini-skirt. It also can be styled in a typical ‘school dress’ look or in classy suit trousers.

Fanny packs
It’s one of the trends we hated the most back in the days. But the fanny packs (hip bags) are back thanks to designers such as Gucci, Alexander Wang, Chanel,… The big sports packs have upgraded to a stylish bag that is worth to be considered as a high-fashion item in the fashion industry. It’s the most comfortable bag around your hips where you can put a lot of stuff in it. This trend is also spotted on the runway shows for spring/summer 2018.

Wide flared trousers
Flared trousers also made a massive come back and can be combined/styled with the trends above. You can make it look chic and posh if you wear a more classis variant for example in a plaid print. Or you can inner your sporty spice and wear it with sneakers and a fanny pack. A wider variant of this flared type is called Palazzo trousers.

Extra-long sleeves
For this season we have oversized jackets, dresses, wide trousers and even extra-long sleeves. It’s quite an odd trend that is mostly seen on the runway. But for 2017 the long sleeves has arrived at the stores to rock this look. The look is mostly applied in knitwear and oversized sweaters.
